It’s kinderboekenweek – my favourite books for Montessori children
This week is Kinderboekenweek (children’s book week)! Did you celebrate book week when you were a kid? I definitely remember book week from my school days growing up in the suburbs of Sydney.
With my own kids I’ve made a ritual each year of going to the book store during book week and the children choose one Dutch book each. You also get a free book during book week which is always a fun little extra. They also have a book week picture book for €5 for younger children. It’s a nice change from ordering online, and the kids are curled up with their new books for about a day before they are already finished.
So in honour of book week, I thought it would be fun to make a list of some of my old favourite books for Montessori children of different ages. There are so many to choose from, but these ones are always popular in class or I read them over and over with my kids.
