Let’s start a revolution of kindness
It’s the last week before the school holidays start here in the Netherlands. So it will just be a quick post today.
Revolution of kindness
I was thinking about something we could all work on over the summer. And I’ve decided on something rather ambitious.
Let’s start a revolution of kindness.
Some of you know my surreptitious plan to overtake the world with kindness. Mwaaah ha ha. I guess this could be a baby step in the right direction.
Over the summer, let’s try:
- breathing deeply instead of shouting at our kids and loved ones
- responding with compassion and understanding instead of with nagging and frustration
- slowing down and soaking in every moment instead of rushing through life and to-do-lists
- switching off technology for a few hours each day (or even a day) instead of being busy with our screens
- making memories
If we start with our kids, I am sure we can make a little difference in this crazy world.
A revolution (even a small one) needs a cute icon. I couldn’t decide between these three so I’ve included them all for you. Maybe you’d like to use one of them to print out + stick it on your fridge, to change your profile pic, to set it as your iphone wallpaper, or to share with a friend.
Hope you will join me in spreading some kindness.

And if you want to follow along during the holidays, I’m a bit of a fan of instagram. Anyone else over there? Send me your profile link!

Wishing you and your families a fabulous summer. I’ll be happy with a little restorative break…and, if it stays this warm, a lot of iced tea.
Cheers to you all for a fantastic year. It has been so fun.
Warmest wishes,
Simone
PS Looks like I’m not the only one seeking a kindness revolution. I just did a quick google search and found this and this and that’s just for starters. There’s hope yet.
