Wow. I have been so lucky to be at the International Montessori Congress in Prague for the last few days. The theme of the Congress was “pathway to peace". In the middle of Pioneer Square in downtown Portland a lot of work had gone into setting up “Montessori in the Square", a public glass classroom. A tent was divided into three classrooms – a toddler, preschooler and primary environment – with Montessori children at work in each. Just imagine doing this work in front of all those onlookers! 2013 Montessori Congress
I was lucky enough in the summer to travel to Portland, Oregon on the USA’s west coast for the 2013 International Montessori Congress. Portland is not a big city so you literally bumped into Montessori teachers, trainers and administrators everywhere as if we had began a little settlement. Not so little in fact.
